About me:  my passion for quilting began in 1984 when my girlfriend and I took a quilting class together. My first quilt was a log cabin and my second was a trip around the world with 1600 two inch squares!  As a child, for Christmas, my mom would always make sure I got crafty things to make and small sewing and needlework projects. I think I was so excited I tried to do them all in one day! I learned to sew in school, first making an apron, then an A-line skirt and then a jacket. My husband bought me a sewing machine in 1971 and I made clothes for my daughters and curtains for my home.  Thought the years I have tinkered in lots of different crafts.  I crocheted daily with my sister-in- law.  I painted with Artex liquid embroidery paints for a few years, later moving onto decorative painting. Making wreaths, rubber stamping and card making....just to name a few!  I have made several quilts, wall hangings, table runners, place mats & napkins and custom curtains!  I have an embroidery machine with hundreds of designs, which I add to quilts and pillows etc.  I taught both my granddaughters how to quilt, both have made three or more quilts and have quilted them on my girlfriends long arm.  I started going to MQX Quilt Festival and got inspired to take som long arm classes. I loved it.....met so many wonderful teachers and quilters!  I decided it was time for me to finish the quilts I make. Two of my friends gracefully quilted them for me.  So the first week of April I bought a HQ Avante with the prostitcher. (Computer) ....I had to finish up a 9' cushion and an 8 1/2' one with 45 degree angles! Phew....lot more work than I thought! I have quilted several quilts and am loving it!  I am looking forward to quilting your quilts!  My web page will be up and running soon!

Have a great day....and Happy Quilting!

Helen :)
